We equip young adults with the essential tools needed for a modern workforce. We mirror real world work environments including collaboration, communication, adaptability and problem solving.
OPR encourages participant centered learning because we use design thinking as a framework to center our participants within the design of our entire process.
SELF ADVOCACY TRAINING
The Self Advocacy instruction focuses on building students' confidence, knowledge and practical skills. Students learn to effectively communicate their needs, and strengths in the workplace through mock exercises and scenarios. Students will learn how actions like self reflection, communication and building confidence helps create a positive work environment.

JOB EXPLORATION TRAINING
The Job Exploration instruction will help students discover their potential career paths, identify their interests and then gain the skills required for the roles they desire. They will explore their strengths, interests and preferences and how to use them in a real life work envrionment. They will also explore educational and certification requirements for different careers.
"As a student, you will develop an awareness of your skills, strengths and weaknesses. OPR will evaluate your background, education and training in order to set personal, academic and career goals."

WORKPLACE READINESS TRAINING
Through the Workplace Readiness training, students will learn how to develop and utilize the skills necessary for work success. They will also receive training on creating their own resume and cover letter template which they will use for job applications. Students will learn where to look for jobs, how to apply and the steps they must take after each application.
"As a student, you will learn how to effectively search, find and apply for jobs. You will learn appropriate work etiquette and have access to effective templates for workplace communications."

COUNSELING IN OPPORTUNITIES TRAINING
Students will receive one-on-one counseling and learn practical strategies such as handling feedback and rejection. They will get personalized assistance in identifying their dream job and the necessary credentials they need to attain it. OPR will help students in making decisions around services and opportunities that will help them reach their overall career goals.
"As a student, you will recognize the relevance of a high school and post -secondary education to your future both in college and/or the workplace.
You will learn about training opportunities, resources and create a personalized resource directory."

WORK BASED LEARNING EXPERIENCES
Work Based Learning Experiences are opportunities students receive in school or after school such as paid and unpaid internships, summer jobs or short term employment. We have placed students in industries including: Cosmetology, Childcare, Fitness, Customer Service, Retail, Arts, Food Services, Health and Wellness, Community Services, Library and IT.
Each internship will last from 4-8 weeks:
Students receive 4 hours of class training in two separate sessions. The class training will equip them with the tools to help navigate the real life work environment successfully.

JOB SUPPORT AND RETENTION
OPR's work does not stop once students have completed their training. We ensure that students find placement and we help them successfully transition into their new jobs. Our support includes hands on development of co-worker relationships, conflict resolution, communication and etiquette training reinforcement.
OPR will assist students by explaining each job task, provide repetition of instructions, allow rehearsal time and training in social skills in relation to the company’s customers, coworkers and supervisors.
OPR will consult with students' employers about workplace set up, job duties, supports and communication. We will identify the expectations of the employer, the challenges students may face in relation to those expectations and the interventions that will be implemented to assist them in meeting those expectations.

VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES
OPR offers Vocational Rehabilitation services to eligible individuals, funded through state resources. These services may include career counseling, job training and development, educational support, and training in the use of adaptive equipment. Additionally, some participants may receive job placement assistance, on-the-job training, and vocational evaluations.
