Work-Based Learning Experience Coordinator (WBLE)
This position will implement strategies that lead to systems change, student empowerment and improved placement outcomes. This position will be responsible for developing and increasing employer partnerships that expand WBLE opportunities through paid and unpaid internships. Serves as a liaison between the schools, counselors and employers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains, prepares and analyzes data on referrals, placements, closures, student activities and work

​Develops schedule for job coaches in conjunction with students work schedule and facilitates all related logistics.

​Recruits and maintains list of new businesses and organizations to provide quality work-based learning opportunities for students.

​Meets with students to assess their interest in various career options and complete all necessary paperwork.

​Work with Students to complete work permit and ensure new hire paperwork is completed.

​Creates high quality internships and job shadowing opportunities for students.

​Hosts Fall and/or Spring “Industry Fair” at desired location which allows local industries to meet with WBLE students.

​Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials to support the Work-Based Learning program.

​Works closely with field job developer to place and coordinate student’s internship.

​Prepares and submits required reports, time sheets and other documents; enter all WBLE opportunities into google drive at all times

​Works with instructors to transition student from training to internships.

​Attends various meetings with counselors, parents, community partners and employers.

​Remains current and proactive with trends and policies in work-based learning.

​Ensures staffs’ and Individual outcomes are achieved.

​Evaluates staff regularly. Supports staff in the development of work plans and goals

​Uses crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations when persons served are in danger of injuring self or others.

​Manages business development and placement tracking systems. Maintains, prepares, and analyzes data on business development activities, including research calls, face- to face meetings, and networking meetings.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

Strong organizational skills required to successfully manage multiple tasks

​ (2) years direct experience in a related field or bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or related field, four year’s progressive work experience in related field.

​Current and relevant knowledge of regional needs and available resources

Strong communication skills, oral and written; with experience in public speaking

​Some experience with the analysis of programs to identify areas for expansion, appropriate solutions or termination preferred.

​Strong interpersonal skills with experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, outside agencies and the general public; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

​Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

​Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal instruction.

​Knowledge regarding unique employment issues, training principles, and workplace support strategies related to persons with developmental disabilities.
